Hello,I'm sorry for the late post, that pesky thing called RL kept me occupied until now.

Here are the drawings for Mab's wonderfully angsty story, "A Thin Strand of Winter", which you can read here:

Many thanks to Jane Davitt for providing me with screen caps for the drawing of Jim and Blair.

And thank you for your beautifully angsty art. :-) I'll just repeat here what I said before - that I like how you created (however subconsciously) a progression of depressed boys on their own to them together, and on the way to being okay, even if they're not quite there yet.

Each one is a beautiful portrait. The expressions, the shading, the muscles, the folds of cloth are wonderfully rendered. The last drawing is so gorgeous, so full of emotion, I can't stop admiring it. Thank you!

Such strong works of art, they really speak to me. Blair in a private moment, allowing himself to feel the anxiety and despair of what he's done with his life. Jim, a touch defiant, taking liberties with Blair's space, the bottle of beer a phallic substitute for what he's planning to do soon, a trespasser staking a claim that he's building up to making real with Blair.

Blair, comforting, because you know he'll never be able to turn away when Jim's in need of him. His touch loving, using skin to skin contact to express his very complicated feelings.

Really nice job and a great complement to Mab's story.

Laurie

Thank you for the wonderful feed back. Yes, that is exactly what I'd say if I was more eloquent than the clam that I am. Phallic substitute is a very apt description. I had great fun drawing Jim's hands ;-)

Wow!

Standing "O". I can see why so many writers are inspired by your artwork. It is absolutely amazing. Are you primarily charcoal and pastels? It is all beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much, it is actually the writers who inspire me.
I use pencil. I've always had a strange reaction to the gritty feel of charcoal and pastel, kind of like nail across chalk board feel :-P
